Drama: a story written to acted for an audience
Iambic pentameter: line of poetry that contains five unstressed and five stressed syllables
Couplet: two consecutive lines of poetry that rhyme
Epithet: descriptive adjective or phrase used to characterize someone or something
Dramatic irony: a contradiction between what a character thinks or says and what the audience knows to be true
Cosmic irony: the suggestion that a god or fate controls and meddles with human lives. It can be seen throughout Romeo and Juliet in Romeo’s continued belief that his life is being dictated by the forces of fate.
Read Prologue (a Shakespearean Sonnet!) and assign parts
